Laboratoires Fenioux have developed the third version of their flagship food supplement: StatiConcept® No. 3. In this new formula, red yeast rice—present in the first two versions—has been replaced with aged black garlic, making it suitable for people intolerant to statins. StatiConcept® No. 3 combines aged black garlic and hydroxytyrosol (an olive extract).

Aged Black Garlic
Several studies have highlighted the health benefits of aged black garlic:

  • It may help lower "bad" LDL cholesterol.

  • Supplementation with aged black garlic extract has shown positive effects on lipid profiles and blood pressure in individuals with high cholesterol.

  • It is particularly useful in preventing excess cholesterol and other blood lipids, which can lead to the buildup of plaque on artery walls.

Aged black garlic is derived from fresh garlic bulbs through a meticulous aging process: the garlic is steamed for 30 days at 70°C and 90% humidity. During this transformation, garlic changes color from white/yellow to black. This aging process also breaks down allicin and alliin, compounds in fresh garlic responsible for gastric reflux and body odor, and converts them into more stable sulfur-containing compounds, mainly S-allyl-cysteine. This compound helps prevent cholesterol oxidation and the formation of atherosclerotic plaques.

Hydroxytyrosol (Olive Extract)
This potent antioxidant helps reduce LDL cholesterol and further prevents plaque formation in the arteries.
