Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a molecule naturally present in the human body. It is also found in trace amounts in food, mainly in eggs, milk and certain vegetable oils. Its endogenous synthesis is modulated by physiological conditions and tends to decrease with age.
PEA exists in several grades that differ in their particle size and mode of dispersion: standard, micronised and ultra-micronised PEA. These physical characteristics determine how the molecule behaves in the digestive tract, and therefore the quantity actually absorbed by the body.
Why choose PEA Calm Forte?
PEA Calm Forte combines four active ingredients: PEA in the patented Levagen+™ form, a Boswellia serrata extract, trans-resveratrol and an Acmella oleracea extract.
The PEA used is a micronised PEA formulated with LipiSperse™ technology, which makes it dispersible in aqueous media and reduces repulsion phenomena at the intestinal interface. A published pharmacokinetic study measured an absorption 1.75 times higher than that of standard PEA (Briskey D., Mallard A.R., Rao A., “Increased Absorption of Palmitoylethanolamide Using a Novel Dispersion Technology System (LipiSperse®)”, Journal of Nutraceuticals and Food Science, 2020).
The Boswellia serrata extract is standardised to 65 % boswellic acids, the characteristic compounds of this oleoresin.
Resveratrol exists in two isomeric forms, cis and trans. PEA Calm Forte uses exclusively trans-resveratrol of natural origin, obtained by fermentation.
Acmella oleracea is a herbaceous plant native to the tropical regions of South America, whose characteristic compound is spilanthol.

The manufacturer claims the following properties for the Boswellia serrata extract:
