Magnesium is the second most abundant cation inside our cells. A cofactor in several hundred enzymatic reactions, it plays a front-line role in energy production, nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction — functions that are called upon constantly, and even more so during periods of stress, fatigue or sustained physical activity.
