Iron is an essential trace element: it is a component of haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells responsible for transporting oxygen to the muscles and organs. Iron deficiency, which affects a significant share of the population — particularly women of childbearing age, pregnant women, adolescents, athletes and people following a vegetarian or vegan diet — can result in persistent fatigue, reduced concentration and lower immune resistance.

Dietary iron is, however, often difficult to absorb, and conventional supplement forms (sulphate, oxide) are frequently poorly tolerated by the digestive system. Fer3 was formulated to address this dual challenge: to provide a gentle, highly assimilable source of iron while optimising the absorption of iron from the diet.

Vitamin C plays a key role here: it promotes the intestinal absorption of iron and, in synergy with it, helps to reduce fatigue and support a normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Why choose Fer3?

Fer3 is based on a synergy of three complementary actives, selected for their quality and assimilation.

Iron is provided as chelated iron bisglycinate Ferrochel®, certified TRAACS®, which guarantees 100% chelation: the mineral is bound to two glycine molecules forming a protective envelope. This structure protects it from gastric acidity, facilitates its passage through the intestinal wall and shields it from plant-based anti-nutritional factors (tannins, phytates). This chelated form is reported to be up to three times more bioavailable than iron sulphate, while being far gentler on the digestive system than conventional inorganic forms.

The vitamin C used is Quali®-C, a pharmaceutical-grade vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) produced in Europe. Beyond its antioxidant properties, it reduces non-haem iron (Fe3+) to haem iron (Fe2+), the form most easily absorbed by the intestine, thereby increasing the absorption of dietary iron. Vitamin C is also particularly concentrated by leukocytes, which take up several dozen times more than blood plasma.

The formula is completed with 100% French and eco-responsible lactoferrin, derived from fresh cow's milk and guaranteed 95% pure in its native, undenatured form. This protein, naturally present in milk, binds non-haem dietary iron and promotes its uptake by the intestinal mucosa, while helping to limit the digestive discomfort associated with certain forms of iron.

Finally, the delayed-release DRcaps® vegetable capsules protect the actives from stomach acidity and promote their release in the intestine, where iron absorption is most effective. The dosage is adjustable: 1 capsule per day for a maintenance intake, 2 capsules for enhanced support.

Recommended daily dose:

1 to 2 capsules per day, to be swallowed with a large glass of water before a meal, ideally at breakfast or lunch, in order to optimise assimilation and digestive comfort. 1 capsule per day to help reduce fatigue and support energy-yielding metabolism; 2 capsules per day for enhanced support during periods of significant fatigue or increased iron needs. For the 2-capsule dose, intake may be taken at once or split throughout the day. As a 6 to 12 week course, to be repeated after a break of a few weeks as needed.
