Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid of the omega-6 family, produced in very small quantities by the body from linoleic acid. Its endogenous synthesis decreases with age, stress, fatigue or certain hormonal imbalances, which may justify a complementary dietary intake.
