Nicknamed “powdered gold,” turmeric is a yellow-orange spice from the same family as ginger: the Zingiberaceae family. The dried and ground rhizome of this plant produces the spice widely used in cooking and contains a group of compounds known as curcuminoids, including curcumin. Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant that supports joint flexibility.
