Calcium citrate is an organic form of calcium, well absorbed by the body, and essential for maintaining normal bone health.
Unlike calcium carbonate, calcium citrate does not require an acidic gastric environment to be well absorbed. Its bioavailability is approximately 20–25% higher than that of calcium carbonate.
People with low stomach acid or those taking acid-reducing medications are advised to use calcium citrate rather than calcium carbonate.
Side effects commonly associated with calcium carbonate (such as bloating, gas, or constipation) are rare or absent with calcium citrate.
This product can be combined with Vitamin D3-1000.
